Brookwood Associates advised the owner of Tune-Up Clinic on the sale of the Company to a regional oil change chain.
Engagement Process and Outcomes
Client Objectives – The owner sought an exit in order to diversify his net worth and focus on personal interests as the Company represented a significant portion of the founder's personal wealth. The Company's long-term presence in the Atlanta market afforded it premium locations.
Effective Marketing and Positioning – Brookwood identified a broad audience of potential buyers including financial buyers and strategic buyers from multiple sectors of the automotive service industry. Brookwood normalized the Company’s financial results to factor out typical non-recurring private company expenses and incentives from the Company’s primary oil supplier. By factoring out the oil company incentives, the business became attractive to buyers that partnered with other oil suppliers. Brookwood assisted the owner in managing difficulties with the senior management team that developed after the sale process was announced.
Superior Results – Brookwood sold the Company to a regional oil change chain that was entering the Atlanta market and valued the Company's premium location footprint. Aggressive negotiations generated an outstanding result for the owner that fully valued the real estate assets.
