Carlson Restaurants Worldwide

The Emerging Brands Division of Carlson Restaurants Worldwide is a group of upscale restaurants with several brands including Samba Room, Timpano Italian Chophouse, Tacqueria Cañonita and Star Canyon.

Engagement Goals

Brookwood advised Carlson Restaurants Worldwide in the sale of its Emerging Brands Division to newly-formed group.

Engagement Process and Outcomes

The Situation – Upon the purchase of Pick Up Stix, Carlson decided to divest this division and to focus on the growth and franchising in their TGI Fridays and Pick Up Stix brands. Carlson expressed desire to either sell the division in whole or by brand, but preferred one sale transaction.

Brookwood’s Role – Brookwood successfully managed the divestiture process, contacting both strategic and financial buyers.

The Result – Carlson sold all 12 restaurants to a newly-formed group created by experienced fine-dining operators to purchase all the brands.

Carlson Restaurants - advised on the divestiture of the Emerging Brands Division, including Samba Room and AquaKnox, to Renaissance Restaurant Group
